The FRida & freD Children’s Museum in Graz has reimagined its popular AR space “Habitat.”
Together with FH JOANNEUM Gesellschaft mbH, Habitat Reloaded was created.

The original HoloLens app was transferred to the modern Meta Quest 3 Mixed Reality headset – and enhanced with new features:

• Hand tracking
• Virtual objects
• A new network structure

All six interactive stations – from photovoltaics to water purification – were reprogrammed and adapted.
2D, 3D, and audio data were transferred, converted, and optimized for the new technology.

The test setup took place right in Graz, at the museum’s own workshop.
That’s how Habitat became Habitat Reloaded – a unique Mixed Reality experience for children and adults alike.
